Summary:  On March 11th 2011 at 1446, the most powerful earthquake to hit Japan struck in the Tohoku area causing a 40.5 meter high tsunami killing almost 16,000 people. It also caused the Fukushima Nuclear Reactor meltdown. Operation Tomodachi was formed and implemented almost immediately. Over 24,000 US servicemen and women helped Japan as it struggled during this triple diaster. Almost all US bases in Japan was involved somehow with the operation. Our mission is to visit as many bases we can that was involved with Operation Tomodachi and say thanks for their contributions to support the effort of restoring the Tohoku area. Ryoichi Sekiya  will run over 1100 km  over a course of 17 days to thank them for their support. Ervin Lawrence will ride a bike with a trailer and support him buy carrying his food, water and other supplies. In conjunction of our thanking everyone, we will hold a fundraiser for an orphanage. We will visit the orpanage on our way and hand them the donations we raised.  The orphange is Children's Village Tohoku Orphanage and is located in Sendai. We will purchase them bikes, basketballs and goals, soccer balls and goals, table tennis and fressbie disk with goals. The total cost is $3500. Please go to the website for more details. The total cost to fund the trip is $4200. If you donate here, it will go towards funding the trip. Once it is funded, the rest goes to the orphange. If you want to donate only towards the orphange, please go to the website to see how to donate via the Japanese bank/post office or e-mail us at [email redacted]. I have several big business friends who say this is not possible. Not enough time and no sponsor would want to help. I think they are wrong. I want to prove them wrong. If we do not raise enough money for the trip, we will still do it, just without the hotels by sleeping in tents in the winter, less food, and maybe not give so much to the orphanage. Either way, this event will happen. Please go to our website for more details and join our facebook page. Our Website
