My name is haylee,I’m creating a go fund me page on-behalf of my cousin lochy. This has been a really tough time for our and his family and friends. Lochy is our goal creator, the smiley one. The one who finds humour even at the darkest of times. For those who don’t know lochlan, he is a 17 year old independent strong kid. During high school he attended rosewood and Beaudesert high. At the age of 16 lochlan was diagnosed with sarcoma cancer where he was treated at PA hospital and was able to beat this cancer going through months of treatment. Lochlan’s cancer is Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) which is a type of sarcoma made up of cells that normally develop into skeletal (voluntary) muscles. Most rhabdomyosarcomas develop in children and teens, but they can also occur in adults. Adults are more likely to have faster-growing types of RMS and have them in parts of the body that are harder to treat. Because of this, RMS in adults is often harder to treat, which unfortunately is Lochlan’s case Roughly April 2024 Lochy’s hair finally started growing back as he stopped chemo as the cancer was gone. He went for his regular check ups and only trust his favourite doctor Rick. He was ready to graduate grade 12, Lochlan was doing his white card so he could get into concreting once he left school. He had bigs plans. And getting to the gym was at the top of his list. Whatever it took lochlan was ready to tackle anything to get those points to graduate grade 12! The day our lives got turned upside down 3rd of June - lochlan was taken to hospital with the thought of having a hernia, Lochy never complained to the point of making anyone stress. He was quite sick in the hospital and was still making jokes. (He vomited a not pleasant colour and told Aunty Kim it looked like venom leaving his body. He was unaware of what was happening) It wasn’t long until it turned quite severe and the hospital told us the news that Lochlan’s cancer had come back, the tumour was in his stomach and had attached to a lot of his organs. they rushed him into surgery where they had no luck to stop internal bleeding. Lochlan was placed in ICU. He had numerous amounts of blood transfusions. Lots of scans and surgeries. Lochlan is a strong kid with a lot of fight. He stopped his internal bleeding somehow over a couple of days which felt like a few weeks. The surgeons and doctors could not believe it. After he came out of icu he underwent surgery and began his radiation and started to create a plan for the future to beat this cancer. It wasn’t until his radiation was finished they found another large tumour where they couldn’t do chemo as the tumour had attached to all his organs. Lochlan hated chemo the first time and we thought he would refuse it. But he wanted to prove this thing wrong he wanted to fight. Unfortunately this cancer took away his will to want to do that. A week or so Lochlan’s conditions got worse and the hospital told us he wouldn’t make the weekend. This was Lochlan’s best weekend. He was up all hours of the night playing PlayStation. He hadn’t eaten a meal in almost a month. So we slow cooked butter chicken all day for him, and he loved it! Lochlan’s words that weekend was “I’m going to prove the doctors wrong”and he did. It’s now the 10th of July and the cancer is taking more and more of Lochlan’s life. lochlan is preparing to spread his wings and join his older brother kody. He’s created a few wishes. This go fund me page is to give lochlan a beautiful resting place where he will lay with his brother Kody. All money will go towards this, lochlan expressed that his first hard earn dollar once he got a job was to buy his brother a plague or a head stone as he didn’t have one, so to honour this wish Kody will finally have one with lochlan by his side. Anything left he wants to be donated to help others like him and families that go through this awful disease that destroys peoples lives. The PA hospital has been amazing and allowed lochlan to set up his hospital room into a complete gaming set up. We couldn’t have done this without the amazing support from them. Every little bit counts. Let’s give lochlan his wishes and create a beautiful send off for his beautiful soul At 17 years old, your life is only beginning, a horrible disease has taken Lochlan’s choice to create his own new life. It’s not fair but with support from everyone we can cherish lochlans moments.
