In the northern part of Bali, there's a humble home where young Arya lives with his caring grandparents. Arya's father left this world too soon, and his mother found a new path, leaving him in the loving hands of his grandparents. Life hasn't been easy, but their spirits are strong. Arya's grandfather, an 84-year-old Hindu priest, shoulders the family's needs. He's devoted over 60 years to his calling, his spirit untouched by age. His grandmother, a homemaker, does her best with the little they have. Their home is a patchwork of wood, metal, and plastic. When it rains, everything inside gets soaked, and the dirt floor turns to mud. The smoke from their simple wood-burning stove fills the air each time they cook a meal. But Arya, undeterred by these challenges, has big dreams. He rides an old, rusty bike to school, shares a hard bed with his grandmother, and his school uniform shows signs of wear. His meals may be simple, but his dreams are big. Time, though, is a concern. His grandparents won't be around forever. They wish nothing more than to see Arya in a proper home, a place where he can grow and thrive, a place where the rain won't leak in and cooking won't fill the room with smoke.
