HELP NURSING HOME BUY ELEVATORS We have great news!!! Two of the three elevators needed are on their way! We thank you, LFEBridge donors, for your generosity and for sharing this emergency with others. Thanks to your efforts and to other very important donations made directly to Camagueyanos Catolicos, Inc. via check, PayPal and Zelle, we have obtained enough funds to order, from a firm in Spain, 2 elevators, to be delivered to the Home in Camagüey in November. We trust that your continued support will help us purchase the third elevator soon! This is why we have reduced our GFM goal from the original $90,000 to the $27,000 we still need. The Sisters of St. Camillus, the residents and aides at the Hogar Monseñor Adolfo send you their blessings and eternal gratitude. Those elevators will help transport the handicapped seniors safely and prevent accidents. Camagueyanos Catolicos, Inc.* is a non-profit organization aiming to fund the purchase of elevators for a nursing home for the elderly poor in Camagüey, Cuba. Our Original Request was: The 3 elevators at the 3-story Hogar Monseñor Adolfo all broke down and the Sisters of St. Camillus who run the home are desperate! Right now they are having to transport the sick and handicapped seniors to their rooms and other services in the facility in wheelchairs or stretchers up and down the stairs, which is a dangerous solution! In fact, there have already been a couple of accidents!! The original elevators were second-hand, had no warranties and no spare parts are available, so they must be replaced. Since they have to be procured outside of Cuba, the cost per elevator is an astronomical $30,000. The CamillianSisters are begging our organization for help with this emergency. This challenge surpasses our limited resources. We recently sent them a container with food which exhausted our funds. This is why we now turn to LFEBridge, hoping to reach a larger community of generous donors. We humbly ask for donations to raise the $90,000 needed so the Sisters can replace all three elevators.
