Hi, my name is Luca, I’ve signed up to the world challenge with my school Ashlyns, where we are travelling to Vietnam in July 2024 and staying for a month. Vietnam is a small country in SouthEast Asia, in between China and Thailand. During that time, I’m going to have lots of amazing opportunities, working in teams, learning about the culture, helping the local community and learning about farmers' lives. We will help to maintain kindergarten buildings, communal houses or village paths, as well as carry out some farm work. From this, I will be picking up a vast range of new skills. We’ll meet hill tribes and villagers along our trek into the Pu Long mountains, and I will sleep in different homestays each night – connecting with my hosts and learning about the hill tribe culture. I’m going to be challenged along the way, so I can build resilience, develop independence, more confidence, and improve my fitness and well-being. In order to accomplish all of this, I need to raise £5,500. Some of this money raised will be going to fund the infrastructure of the local community as well as the transportation, accommodation, food and activities. If you can help contribute towards my fundraising target, I would really appreciate it. My current fundraising activities are: Babysitting, Dog walking, Cake and sweet sales, Dog show and family fun day (I raised £850).
