In 2005, Claudine Cooper and Lemuel Thornton recognized a need in the community for folks who needed support and social services to go. To this day, Ms. Coop as she is called, has worked tirelessly to get people the resources they need. Throughout the past 20 years, We Never Say Never operates predominantly as a Neighborhood Energy Center, working as a one-stop shop for utility assistance (LIHEAP, CRISIS, UESF, Built to Last, TAP, CAP, CRP, etc.) and delivering workshops on weatherization and energy-saving techniques throughout the city. They have helped thousands of Philadelphia residents by applying for social services, giving away food from their pantry, hosting free dinners, toy giveaways, and more. Ms. Coop and Ms. A (Adrienne Hughes) have dedicated these years of their lives to serving Philadelphians in need. They are experts in the programs and offerings of the city. Recently, the building where they served so many people caught fire and was condemned. They are still working tirelessly to offer support wherever they can until they can find a new location. This fundraiser is to allow them to move into a new building. Despite their personal challenges, being beyond retirement age, and this tragic loss of their building, they intend to keep up the fight. Please offer your support!
