West Boggs Park opened its doors to the public in July 1972. Since then, the Park has faithfully served its community as a place of recreation and leisure. Little did we know that over time pollutants and other nutrients derived from the watershed would impact the lake so severely. It has been estimated through an extensive water quality study that we would need millions of dollars to permanently fix the water quality problem that we have been experiencing at the lake. Our dedicated team of employees has a plan to tackle these problems. But, we cannot do it without the community we serve. That is where you come in. As a member of society and a part of this community, we need your help to save the lake at West Boggs Park. West Boggs Park brings in around 10 million dollars for the surrounding area economically. If our lake becomes unusable, the towns and communities in our area will suffer gravely and eventually the park might have to close its doors. All it takes is $5. There are approximately 40,000 people in the Daviess - Martin County area. If half of the population would give, we would double our goal. Save the lake, save the Park, save your community!
