Being in a position to help others? Yep, that is a role I'm familiar with as a mother and special needs educator. Asking for help? This isn't easy. Is there anything you wouldn't do for your pet? I know you'll understand when I say that our pets are more than fluff balls that live rent-free in our homes. They are family. They make us smile and laugh. They comfort and lend a paw when we are sad. They love us endlessly without any judgement or conditions. Lincoln, our beloved dog, tore his CCL. The cost leading to his diagnosis and the surgery is more than we can bear at this time due to this being the second emergency for us in 6 months (this one just happens to be non-human!). I pride myself on never asking for help, as many of us women do, but my pride will not stand in the way of helping my fur baby. He is miserable and unable to walk correctly, and I'm asking for help to cover his vet bills, some modifications we will need around the home (we will need some type of enclosure for healing, and fake grass for the deck so he doesn't have to use the stairs), and surgery, which totals $4,500. My baby is in pain. As difficult as it is, I am asking for help. I appreciate all of you, and thank you for your consideration! P.S Thank you to my amazing sister-in-law for helping me come up with the words to share our story!
