Our community has suffered another hit from Mother Nature this past week. After weeks of rain, we received roughly two months of rain in 24 hours. Our oversaturated water table was already full to the brim, and that water had nowhere to go but into our streets, basements and businesses. Just over 10 years ago Waterbury Village and our surrounding towns were flooded by Hurricane Irene, and while this storm wasn't the same, the long-lasting effects have yet to become visible. We are raising funds for the Good Neighbor Fund ( Community Action Service Team) to help our friends, neighbors and businesses get back on their feet. Every dollar helps and will be put to use right in our own community. Neighbors helping Neighbors because that's what we do. Waterbury Functional Fitness will be hosting two fundraiser classes this Saturday, July 15th at 8 & 9:15 am. These classes are open to members and nonmembers who want to get a good sweat on to burn off some of the stress and frustration this week has caused. These classes will be free and we are accepting donations towards this fund in lieu of payment.
