Hi! My name is Niki. I recently adopted the sweetest Bernedoodle pup, Walter, from a local small rescue. He is the sweetest little guy and has made a great addition to my life and home. Less than a week after Walter arrived to me, he became very ill and could not keep any food down. I took him to my local vet who let me know that he had a bowel obstruction and needed emergency surgery to survive. He hadn’t even been with me a week, I couldn’t justify not doing everything I could to save this sweet pup. Luckily my local emergency vet was able to perform the surgery and ultimately save Walter’s life. What they found in his small intestines was a large pink stuffed animal (seen below)- one that he had not gotten from my home or since I adopted him. The only logical explanation is that he must’ve ingested this before I adopted him and brought him home. My theory is that he must’ve eaten it at the rescue I got him from. I’m raising funds in hopes to cover part of the expenses of Walter’s surgery. This has been a huge unexpected expense, and any little bit would help.
