My name is Sara Vizvarie, and although I am not directly connected to this community, I am a Vermonter that empathizes with what the flooding has done to this neighborhood. The people in this mobile home community are dealing with a particularly difficult situation. Mobile homes are not treated the same as stick-built homes; they are difficult to insure, easily damaged by flooding, and totaled when this type of water damage occurs. There are 32 homes in this park, most of which have been condemned from the impact of the water damage. These families are completely displaced and homeless until they can find a new place to live, which as many people know is incredibly challenging to even find a temporary rental. Many have used their life savings to buy their homes. It will take months, if not years, to sort out claims and disaster relief. They need money now to continue paying taxes and expenses with nothing to show for it and no home to live in. My heart breaks for this community. My goal is to raise a minimum of $500 PER family to help with ongoing living costs, medical expenses, food, and supplies. Many vehicles were also damaged. Whatever money is raised will be divided evenly among the residents of this neighborhood. I know I won't be able to raise enough to replace their homes, but if we could come together and help them during these trying months, God knows they need it. Thank you for taking the time to hear my plea!
