Ukraine U Betcha - Saving Vadym's Family ***UPDATE September 25*** The big day finally arrived and the Holiuk family is together again! Thank you so much for contributing to the future of this wonderful family! Добридень! Hello! Last fall we sponsored the family of Vadym and Liubov Holiuk, and their three daughters. They were forced to flee from their home amidst shelling and bombing when Russian forces invaded. They lived in our home for three months while we got them settled. Vadym now has a job and they are living in a two-bedroom duplex close to our home. They thriving and adjusting to life here, and they have become a part of our family. Most importantly, they are safe. But now the situation in Ukraine is getting worse for Vadym's parents, his sister and her daughter. All of the orchard trees on their small farm were destroyed and they find themselves in a situation that is becoming more and more dangerous. In addition, they live close to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, which is controlled by Russia and in danger of being damaged or destroyed, causing a catastrophic nuclear disaster. We are now sponsoring them, to bring them here to safety, and reunite them as a family. We are looking for those who may be interested in having a direct impact on the lives of this family, to protect them from the war in Ukraine and to reunite them all. The money raised last year, plus funds of our own, have already been used to get Vadym and Liubov settled and independent. So now we are humbly asking for help to get Vadym’s family here to safety and to be together again. As before, we will match every dollar given. So whatever you give, Sharon and I will double it. If you gave previously, please do not feel any obligation to give again. We know that people have limited resources and there are so many other worthy causes to give to. But if you do decide to give, we will be so grateful. ***Note*** When you donate, be sure to uncheck the “tip” box, which is a sneaky service fee they try to add. If you discover you accidentally already paid that “tip”, it’s easy to have it refunded on the LFEBridge website.
