Hi, my name is Georgia and I am fundraising for my partner Tristan Stahl. On February 12th Tristan was on a caving trip in Montana and I was in Maryland for my grandmother's funeral. Tristan's caving trip involved a 7-mile approach on xc-skis. On February 13th, moments before I had to get in the car to go to the cemetery, I got a call from Tristan. He had been airlifted out of the wilderness. Tristan had a safe and successful caving trip, but when it came time to ski home he fell and sustained injuries to his leg and hip. The muscles in his leg ripped causing rhabdomyolysis, a rare condition that requires immediate medical attention due to the impact that it has on the internal organs, especially the heart and kidneys. He also had a hip fracture. The rescue and medical attention that Tristan got undoubtedly saved his life. We are very thankful to Dustin Kisner and James Cummins as well as everyone else involved in the rescue. Tristan's insurance has failed to cover the majority of the emergency medical expenses so if anyone has the ability to donate (any amount), we would greatly appreciate it. Tristan is doing well but still feeling the long-term effects of organ damage and chronic leg pain, this accident has spurred a career change and caused Tristan to lose out on many days of work which has added to the burden of paying off these bills. In total Tristan has 4k remaining in medical bills and 2.5k for the ambulance.
