On Monday, July 10, 2024, our dear friends, Maureen and Billy Tortola, experienced an incredible loss when their home in the Wethersfield area of Natick caught fire after their propane grill ignited. Thankfully they were both unharmed, however, the fire destroyed their home, their on-site home daycare, and all of their personal belongings. As a beloved, licensed childcare provider in Natick for 25+ years, Maureen has cared for numerous infants and toddlers in her home. She is an amazing person and will always hold a special place in the hearts of so many families who have grown up with her. After learning that the house was deemed uninhabitable, not surprisingly her first concern was for her daycare families and her “kids”. As a top priority, she immediately sprang into action trying to identify alternative care to minimize disruption as she looks for a temporary location. Although it’s impossible to replace the priceless mementos and personal items that were lost, the Natick Family Childcare Association has created this LFEBridge account to humbly ask for your support to assist with Maureen and Billy’s short-term needs, loss of income, and expenses that insurance won’t cover as they start to rebuild. No amount is too small, and your donation will make an enormous difference to this resilient family as well as the families who rely on them daily. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
