Hi, my name is Michelle and I am trying to raise funds to support my family during our time of need. My husband, Jack and I have always worked hard to provide for our family, working multiple jobs at times. We had finally gotten to the point of owning our own home and having our three beautiful children. Our son Jack, who is 6, and our two twin girls Lillian and Lydia who are almost 5 months old. After the birth of our twins they were immediately hospitalized in the NICU because they were born premature. After two weeks they were finally healthy enough to come home. Just 5 weeks later, our baby girl Lydia got severely sick and was hospitalized for another three weeks at Doernbecher Children's Hospital. During her stay in the PICU she was diagnosed with respiratory failure and two types of bacterial pneumonia. While in the hospital she went through two ambulance rides, one blood transfusion, one collapsed lung, and two intubations for a total of 15 days on a breathing tube. We almost lost her but after 22 days she was able to beat the odds and return home with us and her twin sister and big brother. My husband and I thought the worst was finally behind us but we knew we had a lot to catch up on for all the time off we had to take to care for our babies. Our savings and PTO were tapped but our family was together and safe. We both returned to work and life went back to normal for a little while. On the fourth of July we were preparing to watch the local firework show from our roof with our son like we had done before. When the baby monitor went off my husband went to check on the girls and the ladder slipped and he fell 10 feet onto our concrete patio. I luckily had my phone on me and was able to call 911. Paramedics arrived within 5 minutes and while they were attending to my husband Stayton PD arrived and helped me and my terrified son safely off the roof. Jack was transported to the ER where he was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and multiple brain bleeds. This included a fracture to his occipital bone and bilateral subarachnoid hemorrhages as well as a subdural hematoma to his frontal lobe. After fearing he would die the Neurosurgeon stated that he will survive but we don't know the extent of the brain damage and only time will tell. They have stated that he will not be able to return to work for the foreseeable future and will need inpatient rehabilitation before he can even return home. Neither he nor I are able to return to work until he recovers and we do not want to lose everything we have worked so hard for. We ask that if you are able, every dollar will help and go to providing a future for our family. We will pay it forward one day but just need a hand to get there. Thank you for everything and please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
