Hi all, Last year Nenagh Triathlon Club launched 3 swimming marker buoys in Youghalarra, which were a massive success. The buoys were a significant benefit from a water safety point of view. Not only did the buoys highlight the presence of swimmers in the water, they were also a great success in enabling swimmers of all abilities to gauge distance in the water. In turn this allowed swimmers to practice with confidence using the buoys as yardsticks. Unfortunately over the winter the buoys were blown away and although we recovered two of them, the third one has never been recovered. We are delighted to announce that we have now purchased a replacement buoy along with new mooring equipment to ensure the buoys remain securely attached. The original and replacement buoy and mooring equipment have come at a considerable cost and whilst NTC were happy to fund the initial costs, we now need to fundraise to defray the additional costs. Along with this fundraising page, we hope to hold a swimming event on Saturday 26th August in Youghalarra. The event will consist of a 1km distance swim and a 2km distance swim.
