Dear family, friends, and strangers alike, It is with a heavy heart this LFEBridge is being shared; however, sometimes God has a plan in store for us we do not understand. For the Penne family, the chapter in their life they are facing is not one they expected to be in front of them. Back in fall 2024, Amy was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. An aggressive cancer treatment plan was enacted. Plans for surgery to take place after aggressive treatments. Over the past 10 months, multiple rounds of chemotherapy have been done. The treatments have been physically, mentally and emotionally challenging for Amy, her husband Trevor, and their two children, Alexander (6) and Valerie (1). Unfortunately, the treatments did not stop the spread of the cancer. Stage 3 has become stage 4. A challenging journey has become even more challenging. The Penne family had moved to Georgia as part of a job promotion for Trevor and a life adventure for the family. Unfortunately, rather than supporting Trevor during this difficult time, his employer let him go. The Penne family made the decision to move back to Florida to be closer to family, a needed support structure and one of the better cancer centers in the country. At this time, the biggest challenge the family is facing is needing care for the children and for Amy. Amy had been the primary caregiver of the children and due to her current health condition, is not able to provide that care. In addition, her weakened condition requires additional support for her, as well as for their children. Recently, Amy has been in and out of the hospital due to challenges with digestion and weakness. On their first weekend back in Florida, a storm came through and lightning struck their home and broke their TV and refrigerator and left them with wiring issues. The financial impact of their situation (unexpected loss of income combined with new expenses and needs) will be significant. In order for Trevor to find new employment, they will need additional caregiving support for Amy and for Alexander and Valerie. Any and all help through this difficult time is greatly appreciated -- your generosity in prayers, monetary gifts and kind gestures (ex. meals for the family, running errands, watching children, etc) to offer support will help take the burden off their shoulders. God bless you all. Thank you for your prayers, generosity and support. UPDATE 8/30/23: Amy was admitted into the hospital last Thursday. On Tuesday, Amy coded and doctors were able to revive her. They placed her in a medically induced coma to let her body try to heal from the trauma of this incident. Unfortunately she has not responded to this treatment. It appears likely that Jesus will be calling her home soon. Please keep Amy and family in your prayers. "Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and support you. I will uphold you by my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10
