Greetings. My name is Briana Paronto, and this fundraiser is to assist with repairs and rebuilding the homestead of my cousin Justin and his wife Stephanie and their three children (5, 2 and 8 weeks). At 3 AM on Monday, July 10th Justin and Stephanie had to escape their home and the malicious flooding that decimated much of Bridgewater, Vermont. Seeking higher ground at a neighbor's home further up the mountain, they sat and waited for the rain to stop so they could see what became of the homestead they had built together. Like many Vermonters who are now returning home after the terrible floods that have plagued our small state, the Sterling family has returned to their off-grid home to find great damage. While their home was spared, the shed that housed the many things it takes to run a home off-grid now has a river running under it. The greenhouse where they grow their food is also destroyed leaving them without a food source they cultivated with care to feed their family throughout the year. With only one income and no FEMA assistance available, this family could use your love, support, and any financial assistance you can give to get their house back up and running. After assessing the damage, this young family has a BIG undertaking ahead of them. They will need to hire someone with an excavator to repair much of the property, they will also need to rebuild the shed that housed their solar and other utilities, the greenhouse, purchase two hundred pound propane cylinders, as well as other tasks that have yet to be discovered. Thank you for reading their story and for any help you can provide. Our family greatly appreciates you. Please pray for them as more rain is making its way to Vermont.
