Hello, my name is David and I am starting this to try and help out family in need. My fiance' has worked with this family for years, they are like family. On July 17th their home in St. Charles literally exploded while they were inside. Brandy & her sister made it out okay, but Nathan & Dominic went back in the now raging fire to get their son Austin(4), and their niece Mariah(4). Both children received burns while being carried out, but were lucky one of the walls of the house had fallen over them (like a shield over them protecting them) Thankfully 3 of them have been released from the hospital with minor injuries. Nathan & Dominic were nowhere near as fortunate. Having to walk both into and out of the flames to find and retrieve the children they recieved 3rd degree burns over a majority of their bodies. Nathan will be in a medically induced sedation for the forseeable future while they tend to his burns in the burn unit. He will be hospitalized for months, best case scenario. Their baby girl Kia (dog) was saved from the fire. She has a long recovery road ahead of her as she suffered from the explosion too. This family has lost absolutely everything in an instant. In a fire you may be able to grab your purse or wallet while exiting, in an explosion, not so much. I'm sure all of us in this circumstance would absolutely do the same for our children. Nathan's niece even said later in the hospital that Nathan & daddy were her HEROS. My heart is broken for this family! With family visiting from out of town, who could imagine an explosion to their home exactly 30 days from closing. All I want this to do is to show this family that people do still care and there are still a lot of good people out there just like Nathan. I hope this helps Brandy and Nathan especially alleviate some of the heartache, pain, and suffering both physically and mentally in the coming months. I would love to have this goal reached by the time they let Nathan wake up so there can be at least some good news that comes from this sudden tragedy. Their family is the sole beneficiary of this fundraiser and truly hope you can find it in your hearts to help this young family. Anything at all will be grealty appreciated, I can assure you that.
