Hi, my name is Celina Marie DiCecca. I'm an Ontario-based fiddler, educator, wife and mom of two amazing kids. I've been invited to compete at the 2024 Canadian Grand Master Fiddling Championship, held this year in Truro, Nova Scotia from August 25-27 2024. This is my first time being invited to compete and it's a dream come true. I never thought I'd be considered for such an honour to compete alongside the best fiddlers in the country. I'm still pinching myself. I'm raising funds to help with the travel, accommodations and childcare costs involved in leaving my family at home for the weekend to attend the fiddle competition. For my birthday (July 21) I'm asking for a donoation to help get me to and from the competition. Any little bit will help. Even the cost of your coffee today. If you know me, you know that I've loved the fiddle and fiddle music for as long as I can remember. I started playing when I was very young and have turned it into my career, leading bands like the Great Canadian Fiddle Show and running community groups like the Toronto Fiddle Collective and Forest City Folk Orchestra. I have a passion for Canadian fiddle music and it's my mission to help be a part of continuing to teach and spread the art of Canadian traditional music in all its varieties. Being invited to compete at the highest level in Canadian fiddling is an important milestone in my career.
