Hello, My name is Leia Lozada. I am a 16-year-old martial artist from Ottawa. Over the past nine years, I've had the privilege of training at the Canadian Elite Taekwon-do Federation under the guidance of Master Michel Demers, VIII. Dan, a former ITF Taekwon-do world champion. Holding a second-degree Black Belt, I can confidently say that Taekwon-do is more than just a passion—it is my way of life. This martial art has not only helped me overcome obstacles related to my Asperger's but has also instilled in me discipline, confidence, self-control, perseverance, and integrity. A few months ago, I had the honour of representing Canada at the North American Taekwon-do Championship in Houston, Texas. I was ecstatic to bring home gold medals in Sparring and Special Technique, along with a silver in Patterns. These victories have opened an incredible door for me—a chance to compete at the World Games in Seoul, Korea, where the finest martial artists from across the globe will showcase their skills. However, this rare opportunity comes with significant financial challenges. Travel, accommodation, registration, and equipment fees are beyond my family's means at the moment. So, I'm humbly reaching out to you for support in making my dreams a reality. Your contributions, regardless of the amounts, hold immense value and would deeply impact me. With your help, I can proudly represent Canada and compete among the very best in the world of Taekwon-do. Together, let's make this journey possible and empower me to shine on the global stage. Thank you for being part of my story!
