Hello my name is Humberto, I’m raising money to save my apartment and not get evicted. I’m a performer and striving for work, nowadays the SAG-AFTRA strike has put a dent on not only our livelihood but the way we can pay our bills. I have lived in this apartment for the past 20 years, it is the only place I call home. I lived here with my mother who passed away last year, and my mom’s two loving cats. We both were in the same line of work, voice artists, we not only shared our living space but also our professional daily workspace. We used all our savings to cover rent during the pandemic. After my mom passed away I had to have surgery to treat a hernia. Daily tasks became more difficult and under excruciating pain during recovery, I still worked as a seasonal performer at Universal Studios. Regardless, medical bills never seized to stop coming in, sinking me into a deeper debt. It has been hard to catch up with what I owe. If I don't meet the amount, my cats and I will be forced out of the appartment. As a working actor I constantly strive to find work every single day and create my own opportunities. My contribution has always been promoting the arts and inspiring younger actors through theater. Collaborating with existing talented artists has been a gift in itself. The funds raised will be used to cover for the past months’ rent, and will help me save my apartment and a home for my two loving cats.
