From a young age, I felt different, as though I was living in a world that didn’t quite fit me, and I grew up with those feelings. I became aware of my attraction to girls in my teens. In 2018, I went to a psychiatrist, who diagnosed me with gender dysphoria. Later, I was also diagnosed with BPD, OCD, and OCPD. Navigating life with these diagnoses hasn’t been easy. There have been days filled with doubt, fear, and anxiety. The transition process is forbidden and taboo in my country, and being in such a restrictive environment surrounded by the societal stigma took a toll on my mental health and my ability to work. I eventually had to quit my job, which was devastating. Shortly after, I was scammed and lost all my savings, leaving me penniless and in debt. I even had to quit therapy. Coming out to my friends about my identity wasn't easy and I needed to be careful. While some supported me, many cut ties, leaving me feeling even more alone. The fear of rejection in a society that often doesn’t accept people like me can be overwhelming. I am launching this fundraiser to support myself financially so that I can leave the country and begin transitioning. I have been accepted into a university in Europe, and studying is the safest way for me to escape without raising suspicions here in Jordan. Together, we can make a difference. Your support will not only help me continue my journey during this critical time but also create a safe space for me to find acceptance and support abroad, relieving years of stress and discomfort.
