August 25 Update: The focus is to pay off the debt from Ryan’s father’s funeral services and last illness bills by October 1 and continue to seek other avenues to reduce the debt that he is now responsible for. Ryan is making excellent strides during the past two months with his coaching and training of aspiring basketball players. He is on the path of moving forward following the loss of his last parent in March and having no family in Georgia. Please continue to lift Ryan up in your prayers and contribute to Ryan’s Fund via this link: https://gofund.me/c9a249ba Dear Friend, My name is Dan Farr, and I am a friend and mentor of Ryan Billig. I met Ryan and his parents, Tom and Joyce, fifteen years ago when he came to our summer basketball camp. I am reaching out to the families and friends from the Mt. Zion UMC, Pope High School and Mount Bethel Christian Academy communities who know Ryan Billig. You will likely recall that Ryan lost his mother, Joyce, in January 2024 and his father, Tom, passed suddenly in March 2024. Ryan has no family members in Georgia. Ryan absorbed an incredible amount of responsibility and decision-making after his father’s sudden passing. That burden would be very difficult for anyone, and especially for a young man with no immediate family support and limited financial experience. His father’s estate has been placed in probate, and creditors have a window to satisfy their charges against the estate. Ryan has demonstrated great resolve during the past few months. Ryan is training and coaching basketball players for the Sweat Line program at their facility on Allgood Road. He has an opportunity to train their basketball players and build his personal client training base. This training and coaching opportunity allows him to generate income doing what he loves to do and for which he is gifted and also well-suited. Ryan’s monthly living expenses far exceed his current monthly income. Ryan inherited a first and second mortgage from his parent’s home where he lives. Several members from the Mt. Zion community continue to provide financial guidance as well as emotional and spiritual support. Based on their input regarding Ryan’s financial situation, a LFEBridge account was created for the specific purpose of helping Ryan pay for his father’s funeral service expenses, the second mortgage, and credit card and finance company credit debt that Ryan inherited from his father. The LFEBridge goal to pay down these liabilities is $60,000. So many of us are blessed to have Ryan as a friend and enjoyed watching him play basketball. Please prayerfully consider helping Ryan reduce his financial burden by giving generously and sharing the LFEBridge link https://gofund.me/c9a249ba with others who can give. Please continue to pray for Ryan and encourage him during this difficult transition. I will provide occasional updates on progress toward reaching the goal. Please contact me at [email redacted] if you have questions or suggestions. Respectfully submitted, Dan Farr, Administrator for the Ryan Billig LFEBridge
