At 2:09 p.m. on June 9, Ruby Gwen Jones made her dramatic entrance into the world. Born at 22 weeks and one day, this beautiful one-pound-and-six-ounce baby was instantly rushed to the NICU at Kennestone Hospital. After three weeks, her parents finally were able to hold her for the first time, but Ruby and her family still have a long journey ahead of them, filled with all the ups and downs that come with the NICU. In July, Ruby was safely transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Hospital where she battles what they believe is NEC. Her wonderful parents have remained by her side day and night since she was born, and while her health is trending upward, we know the toll -- emotionally, physically, and financially -- must be great. Both of Ruby's parents are full-time teachers in Cherokee County, and we'd like to provide them with financial support to cover Ruby's growing medical bills. So, we're raising funds to cover whatever expenses may come as Ruby gains her strength. Every dollar counts, and we're sure that Ruby and her parents will be extraordinarily grateful for any support provided. Thank you in advance!
