Yesterday, a devastating apartment fire in Fresno, CA, left my sister (Lourdes) and her three teenage boys (Kellen, 16; Kaleb, 15; and Ian, 13) without a home and many of their belongings. I am reaching out to raise funds to support them during this difficult time. The incident occurred around 9 am while my sister was at the hospital with Kellen, who was recovering from surgery. Ian, who was alone at home, showed remarkable bravery when he heard popping noises that resembled small fireworks and discovered the fan vent on fire in the bathroom sink. He quickly took action and extinguished that small fire. However, when he looked up, he noticed a more substantial fire and smoke forming in the attic, which eventually engulfed the entire apartment. Thinking quickly, he evacuated the apartment and alerted the neighbors while my sister called 911. Fortunately, everyone is safe, but the apartment and their belongings suffered substantial damage. The Red Cross provided $600 to cover a hotel stay, but unfortunately, the apartment complex cannot provide a new apartment until mid-August. As a result, my sister is searching for alternative housing options. I am starting this fundraiser to help them rebuild their lives as soon as possible. My sister rarely asks for help, and she devotes her heart and soul to her boys. Our primary goal is to help them restock their basic needs and provide them with a home again. Here are the current needs of my sister and her three teenage boys: Deposit for the next apartment/home - $2000 Clothing for the family - $1200 Kitchen Appliances - $500 Furniture (including 4 beds) - $2000 Meals from Uber Eats for several weeks - $500 Miscellaneous expenses - $300 Your generous contributions would be immensely appreciated. If you prefer to provide assistance in ways other than through LFEBridge, you can directly contact Lourdes at [email redacted] Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any support you can provide. Your kindness will make a significant difference in helping my sister and nephews rebuild their lives after this traumatic event. Together, we can help them find stability and comfort once again. ♥️ Thank you SO much!!!
