Raising By Running4RiteTrax RiteTrax, over the years, has become an integral part of the community and music scene in Sheffield and the North, with funded projects allowing many people from all backgrounds to engage in music and creativity on previously unreachable levels. The creative hub, Plot 22, has allowed an accessible platform to develop, linking and connecting various groups within the industry. With the cost of living crisis and global uncertainty, it can often be difficult to secure the needed funds. This year Joe Gaughan, a founding director of RiteTrax, will be embarking on an extraordinary set of challenges…(and he's managed to convince the other two to race him!) In the final event this July, Joe will face a mammoth 200 miles on foot, starting in the Lake District then following the Yorkshire Dales down and then back up. He will have 92 hours to finish the race, with over 25,000ft of elevation along the way! Some call it madness… but running is a passion to him, along with RiteTrax, so his thoughts were to combine the two. Raising By Running4RiteTrax has been established to build funds for future projects later in the year. One key event on Sunday 28th April, which aims to trend locally through online platforms, will be a point to point race. Starting on the Bolehills in Crookes, Joe will race fellow Director's Mike and Adam on foot… Following clues, they will guide us through the history of RiteTrax. From its inception to the traction it has now gained. While Joe runs, the other two will use public transport, spanning the city and out into the peaks, before returning to Plot 22 on Exchange Street. Celebrating memorable events, from house parties in the early years to milestone events, launches and birthdays, this exciting challenge will be documented throughout. Let's hope they have all done their homework, as the clues will be cryptic and the transport links on Sundays can be few and far between! At the finish line, Plot 22 will host a selection of local legends in an evening of music and entertainment …this one is not to be missed! Here is a message from Joe; 'As much as I enjoy running, I think it's fair to say that these challenge are going to be a real test on my physical and mental capabilities. A real mix of events, to really push my limits. With that in mind, I will be raising money for further projects to be facilitated by Ritetrax. Ritetrax CIC is a Sheffield based social enterprise, supporting vulnerable members of the community in various ways. Through group and one on one sessions, hundreds of people have engaged in music, arts and media workshops and events hosted by the team. By aiming to get up to (and over?) £2000, the team will be able to continue providing various free workshops for vulnerable people in Sheffield and surrounding northern cities. Over the years, Ritetrax has developed and evolved into an entity that is now integral in the community, but funding is becoming harder and harder to secure. COVID and council cuts have seen the most vulnerable in our society suffer, and that's not fair. If I pledge to put the hours in training and face these gruelling challenges, can you pledge your support?'
