Twin Falls Downtown small business owner, local artist, musician, former CSI Senator and community advocate Sergio Larios was admitted for urgent medical surgery due to a cerebral embolism. He was taken via Life Flight to Idaho Falls in July 2024 where the surgical removal of the blood clot was successful. After surviving his first major life injury 23 years ago, Sergio did not allow becoming paraplegic stop him from creating an independent life, completing his university education, competing in triathlons and building a career as an artist in Twin Falls. He has always given back to the community he loved, serving as a CSI Senator, President of the Latino Student Union at Southern Oregon University and championing advocacy, access and diversity in Idaho. Sergio mentored the youth through Academia Latina, empowering the next generation of leaders. His tattoo art studio became a welcoming space, fostering community and belonging for all who walked in. As an artist Sergio expressed himself through music, poetry and drawing. Life is not the same after the recent injury, Sergio has limited mobility of his right hand, language and speech. The healing journey is long and uncertain. We ask the community to help offset unexpected medical, equipment, supplies and show Sergio ongoing support as he transitions into this next chapter of his life. He and his family appreciate the overwhelming love, respect and support he is receiving community wide. Thank you.
