WOW is all i can say for the amount of generosity in just 2 days! Thank you to all that have donated and for those who continue to help us reach our goal. UPDATE: Someone out there bought and donated a new vehicle and drove it up here from Manhattan and suprised and suprised her today and i got it all on video. We now changed the goal to 3000 to get her caught up on back rent. Big big BIG THANKS TO The Montalvo family who Donated a vehicle . Hi, my name is Louis and im fund raising for my coworker who lost her vehicle today from an electrical fire. This could have gone south and been a much worse situation, had i not stopped into my job on the way home. I pulled into the parking lot and noticed the only car that was there ,belonged to a coworker who had no idea this was happening. There was smoke and flames visible through the windows and i ran inside the store to tell her her car was on fire. The man who owns the business next door and myself successfully extinguished the fire but it was too late. The fire burned up the entire dash and totalled out the car. I then learned that this woman is 61 years old, on disability, and her kids took off 8 years ago and stole her other vehicle, her money, and let the house she helped them buy go into foreclosure. She has had several heart failures and is terminal with leukemia. It was so sad to see her so upset but i also learned that she is behind on her park rent by 2500.00 and works at our store as a part time cashier and makes 50 bucks a week that goes to pay the minimum payment so she can keep her home. This poor woman didn't deserve this unfortunate situation and i decided to try and help her by setting this up to raise enough to get her caught up on back rent and maybe have enough for a new vehicle. If you want to donate a vehicle it is not out of the relm and would help her so much. We all have something that life throws a wrench into and it seems like everything is closing in on you. Humans are hardwired for compassion for others and anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your generosity.
