My name is Jackie Bowen (kittenplantlady). My husband's name is Steve Bowen. Our son, Steven Ray Bowen died on October 20th, 2024 at home in his bed. He was our only child. He was 21 years old. His official date of death was October 24th, 2024 because he was an organ donor so they aren't pronounced dead until they remove life support and do the organ donor surgery. I have PTSD from giving him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation while his girlfriend's Mother administered CPR. Those images and the images of the three days I stood over his body while they made his organs healthy for donation will never go away. It's bad enough to lose a child but to have to experience what I, his father and his Girlfriend and her mother experienced was devastating to go through! I purchased a used VW Jetta after my Scion Xa was totaled by a person who pulled out in front of my son and didn't stop to render aid, fleeing the scene of the accident. no one was injured. The transmission went out on the Jetta about 3 months later. I couldn't afford a $3,500.00 transmission so I traded it back to the seller and bought a 2004 BMW for $2,500.00. This vehicle's transmission went out 3 weeks after I purchased it. It is now sitting in my garage gathering dust and still not repaired. I can't even afford to have it towed and get diagnostics done to determine what needs to be repaired or replaced. That alone would cost around $400.00-$500.00 before any work is done if it can be repaired. It is no warranty, as is purchase. We do not have an extra car. We are unable to go anywhere. I get groceries delivered and our neighbor brings us our mail and takes the garbage to the main road for us. My husband and I are disabled and we cannot get any help. He was electrocuted in 2010 and can no longer do anything for himself so I take care of him. He has severe Parkinson's so he is barely able to get around the house. I have multiple life-threatening drug reactions. My fourth reaction required me to go to Parkland Hospital in Dallas. I needed a Burn Unit and A Dermatology Unit to treat me. I had TEN/DRESS with SJS Overlap. This was my fourth drug reaction. The last time I was taken to the ER, I had very low blood pressure in the ambulance and almost died on the way to the ER. I had Toxic Mega Colon with Sepsis. I passed nothing but blood from my bowels for 10 days. I was then diagnosed with very advanced Crohns disease and two forms of colitis. I need a running car to go to doctors' visits for myself and my husband. Our doctors and hospitals are on the other side of town. I need to be able to go to two pharmacies for our medications. I also receive my Humira shot pens through FED-EX. It must be kept refrigerated but the FED-EX drivers see it fit to leave it near our mailbox which is a quarter of a mile away, instead of bringing it to the house like they are supposed to. I can't walk all the way to the mailbox in Texas heat or any other time. I could die walking that far and back home. I need to be able to drive to the mailbox to take my trash out and get the mail. I also need to be able to drive to the grocery store and take my cats to the vet. Three have a respiratory illness and one has crossed the rainbow bridge because she was autoimmune and her immune system was destroying her red blood cells. Our son rescued her and gave her to me. She was the last living thing we had left of Steven Ray Bowen. She is my profile picture on all social media platforms. I can't find someone to help me get them to the vet. One is a male that hasn't been neutered because the eye infection must be resolved first, both eyes are infected. We are desperate to get my car fixed or replaced with another used car. I will donate the BMW if I need a replacement car if we can't afford to have it repaired or if it cannot be repaired. When my Father in law passed away, my Mother in law got rid of the tractor and other equipment we needed to care for the land, therefore, our property has gone unmowed for 9 months. Our neighbor shredded the driveway and some of the field but can't do it all. Another very kind friend and his friend helped with some mowing and has repaired the mower, it just needs to be delivered. we have both felt ill, so it hasn't been delivered yet. I can mow a little at a time myself at least around our house and the driveway. We desperately need a car as soon as possible. Please help us!
