Please share *Too much brain to contain* Kat is a 21 year old young lady full of faith, heart, spunk and determination. In May she went for a routine eye exam which ended with an appt with the eye surgeon for reasons they weren't sure of. 2 weeks later, when that appt came, we were immediately sent to Ohio State University to find out what was wrong. During that visit, they found two issues, but one has nothing to do with the other; I.I.H (Increased spinal cord fluid pressure) and Chiari Malformation (Her brain was falling into spinal cord because her skull didn't fuse as it should have. July 19th, she was getting emergency brain surgery for the Malformation. She did ok with that and was released July 22nd. We got taken by squad to OSU on July 24th due to CSF leaking from her incision, caused by the pressure of the IIH. They put in a Lumbar drain July 27th to release the CSF pressure and allow the incision to heal. Here it is August 1st and she is still leaking CSF from her incision. If it still continues to leak, they will take her back to surgery, clean some stuff up and put in a shunt. We are hoping that does not need to happen. She was supposed to go back to work in Aug, unfortunately, that was with no complications after surgery and now with these complications, the doctor feels it will be awhile before she can return. Please consider helping out Kat with her finances during this unexpected time off as she was denied short term disability and was denied for FMLA. Anything helps and is truly appreciated. Please pray for her, her doctors, her medical team and her family. ♡ Shares are also appreciated.
