It is too HOT for Pancho Claus, at 72 years old, with many ailments from heart problems, COPD, Diabetes, etc. all while traveling on Metro for the past 7 months. He rides 6 Metros every day to get to and from his home in Aldine and his office in the Second Ward. His only source of income is his Social Security Check & a small benefit check. He needs his communities assistance in obtaining a vehicle. As many of you know, he made several trips to the RGV (Rio Grand Valley) this past Christmas to distribute toys. He distributed over 17,000 toys to kids in Houston & the RGV this past year. His car motor burned up on one of those trips. Throughout my childhood and beyond, I have heard and witnessed the many blessings Pancho Claus has sown throughout the decades. From family members, friends, community servant leaders and beyond, he has impacted many lives. These seeds hit good ground, and today, these leaders have grown to be successful. While growing up and as an adult heavily involved in the community, I have heard countless stories of individuals whose life have been impacted by receiving a toy or assistance from Pancho Claus. Not just a gift, but the thoughtfulness of someone who would go out of the way to brighten hearts and bring joy in times of need to little ones including many of my family members, friends, constituents and beyond. I believe that our Community is beyond blessed because of the work Richard Reyes, also known as Pancho Claus has done. All funds raised after vehicle expenses will be donated to “Pancho Claus Arts Projects.” Thank you & God Bless. Vicki Cruz
