On June 28th the CVRD voted to have Pan Disposal no longer operate its local garbage and organics services. The decision by CVRD is to bring the services in-house and force all residents to use their collection services. PAN Disposal has been in business for 40 plus years, they have done an excellent job serving areas A, B and C. Over 52% of the electoral population! CVRD states that this will transpire in the fall of 2025. PAN will continue to serve the communities until that time as best they can under these difficult circumstances. PAN is now in communication, through counsel, with the CVRD to determine what the fallout for their business and family will be. As part of this community for almost 15 years, operating PAN Disposal since 2009, they will continue to do so while they still can. PAN has obtained legal counsel and is looking to take action against the CVRD. This is extremely costly, we as a community have to try and help this wonderful family fight a good fight. This is financially crippling to this family. Pan Disposal was their retirement plan which was years away, and potentially something their children could take over. Monies raised here will go towards legal fees, obtaining a business valuation, and any legal costs that will arise. "Thank you for all your words of support, connection and beyond..." In gratitude, Andrea and Tyler
