Hello to all that have come across this very necessary fundraising effort set up for my dear friend’s medical and life expenses. If you have come into contact with Jon Daniels you know there is nothing but kindness and love beaming from him. Jon may have checked you into a beautiful dinner at The Maker, he may have done a tarot card reading for you or he may have just given you the sweetest smile as you passed him on Warren St in our beloved Hudson, NY. For the past week, Jon had fallen ill and we all assumed the ‘normal’ things. Stomach virus, food poisoning and so on. The pain escalated to an extreme point and luckily he was able to get himself to the ER just in time where they performed an immediate surgery to remove a ruptured appendix which had turned septic. This was an extremely dangerous state to be in and caused several other issues within that area of the body. The Good News: Jon made it through surgery like a champ and was just as sweet and grateful upon waking up as I’ve come to expect. The Not-So-Good News: The recovery from this surgery will be several weeks. On top of that, in about 6 weeks time when the tissue in the area is healed enough, a necessary follow up surgery will have to take place. Also with a several week recovery time frame. For those of us in the Service/Hospitality biz we understand that means less funds coming in and rent/bills still needing to go out. Not to mention whatever the insane medical costs will be. I have set a goal that I think is easily reachable if our community pulls together with whatever they can chip in. However, it’s safe to say the needed funds will be much higher. If you have it in your heart and your pocket to donate we’d all be eternally grateful.
