My name is Janille Turner. I am starting this Fundraiser for an employee and his daughter who have lost their home. At around 11:30 this morning we received a call from an employee saying one of our kitchen staff's homes was on fire. He had already called 911 as well as another local who jumped in with a hose trying to keep the fire a bay because the winds were blowing today. Raphael is a long-decade standing Local of the Ocracoke community. He has never met a stranger. He is kind, loving and caring and also the first to help EVERYONE he comes in contact with. He supports everyone and anyone in the Ocracoke Community we disaster strikes. Raphael is not now just dealing with his disaster, the loss of his home. Not only has he now lost his home but he also just suffered a massive heart attack a few months ago and just had to have a pacemaker put in. So he has already lost a lot of work over the past few months and was just able to come back is having to deal with this devastation to his health. His daughter came to help him during his recovery and is living with him. With this tragedy, We all know finding a place to stay on the island is nearly impossible. In saying that I have set up this LFEBridge to try to help him get another camper to live in. If you would like to donate you can do so here. You don't have to donate much, anything helps.
