Please join us in supporting the Norried Family in their time of need as they recover from medical and financial crises. The Norried family will be grateful and humbled by any donation amount toward their efforts to get back on their feet. As Kelly had just accepted a new position to begin work on June 1, 2024, life appeared to be going in the right direction for the Norried family. However, on May 29, 2024, Kelly suffered an Aortic Dissection necessitating three back-to-back life-saving surgeries, each one causing the family to pray for his survival. His body cavity was opened from his heart to the groin to repair the Aorta Dissection which was causing him tremendous and excruciating pain from the onset of the condition and through the surgeries. The family is thankful that he was under the care of the excellent, experienced, and life-saving medical staff at Keck Medicine of USC who were dedicated to addressing each of Kelly’s life-threatening challenges. Diane, his wife, and their three wonderful children, Jillian, Ryan, and Troy, would make the 1-hour drive to be at Kelly’s side in ICU for most of his 45-day hospital stay, and they too are adjusting to the emotional ups and downs, especially during those life-or-death moments. Just last week, Kelly was transferred to a rehabilitation center closer to home to begin his long road to recovery. Adding to the tragic Aorta tear and due to the gap in time from the onset of his Aortic Dissection until his life-saving surgery was performed, the blood flow to Kelly’s body tissues, stomach and colon was severely limited, and in some cases halted completely. This resulted in part of his colon having to be removed. Kelly now has a colostomy bag and nerve damage to his left side, resulting in limited use of his left arm. As every day presents a new medical challenge, the financial challenge to keep the children connected to their educational programs is the family’s critical focus as Kelly continues to rehabilitate and Diane focuses on her new entry-level job while balancing the home front. Jillian continues to work as a student nurse while attending classes at Arizona State University for her BS in Nursing. Ryan also holds a part-time job and just completed his first semester at Baylor University in Texas. And as a student at Saint Anthony High School in Long Beach, Troy is continuing to pursue his football passion, despite not having his dad on the sideline coaching him up. With Kelly possibly being on permanent disability, at this point, they are not in a position to make any financial gains to get out of some debt nor fully pay for the daily or monthly life and home expenses with these recent life and medical setbacks. The Norried family is humbled, and thankful for the love, support and prayers from family, friends, and the community. The family asks first and foremost for continued prayers for Kelly's recovery. If able, your contribution will help to keep the family financially stable and will help their children remain in their respective school programs.
