My Dear Friends, In the early hours of Friday morning the people in my home town were awaken by a chorus of emergency sirens as extreme rainfall pushed our rivers to their limits, their banks no longer able to contain the torrential waters. What followed was catastrophic flooding. In what felt like a heartbeat, less than an hour, countless treasured possessions were swept away. Amid this shocking devastation, we were tragically reminded of the most painful cost: the irreplaceable loss of human life. While we are eternally thankful that our family and friends have been spared, our hearts ache for those who were not as fortunate.
