Dear Friends and Colleagues, Natalie has been battling a health crisis for the last several years. The impact of this finds Natalie slipping into poverty and homelessness. She has been shuttling back and forth from Tahoe to Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles for treatments on her spine that is leaking spinal fluid, compromising her entire immune system. After treatments, she is on bedrest with her mobility limited for weeks often accompanied with debilitating headaches and other side effects from the treatments and medication. The financial impact along with the physical and emotional strain is taking a huge toll on her. She is physically limited by the type of work she can do, her schedule traveling back and forth from LA and the lack of stable or affordable housing in the area are all impeding her recovery and ability to stay afloat financially. She is self-employed and does not qualify for disability or unemployment benefits. As one of her close friends, I have taken it on to set up a fund for her to gather the resources she needs to get through this and get well. This fund will go directly to her and will allow her to take some time off and afford stable housing. She was resisting this idea for months but she has reached a breaking point and needs our support. If you are able, donate what you can, even if it's only $10. It will help.
