Please help! We have relocated back to Maryland area by way of New York. We are seeking help for my partner and I due to her unfortunate medical emergency, we are struggling to make ends meet for the both of us as her sole caregiver at this point it is beyond hard to care for her and maintain all our relocating, moving truck, packing, basic living needs, food cost, doctor visits, gas, etc. she has been out of full-time work for almost a year now awaiting the approval of her disability and other medical assistance programs. We have to relocate immediately due to these circumstances applying for disability and our current urgent need to move to a place that has 1st-floor handicap accessible due to her inability to do flights of stairs. On October 22, 2024, after a catering service and working at our boutique, we ordered some crabs for as a celebratory dinner after a successful major catering service that evening like any other booking day, That night and the next day she felt very strange and complained of feeling woozy, dizziness, lethargy, and pains then later she started to feel very ill, nausea and could not rest well and she started having sharp bad pains in her legs and walking became hard to do. Her vision became very blurry almost like temporary blindness, and she lost her balance a few times and had severe tingling in her hands and her body was aching with strange uncomfortable feelings. The next few days we went to Walgreens to attempt to get pain meds and she collapsed to the ground losing mobility several times. I immediately drove her to urgent care where they stated it was her back issues causing her to be off balance, we knew it was not that simple and so much more than that causing these symptoms turns out they were all wrong. The symptoms became worse, and I then rushed her to the Emergency room where they kept her for over 2 weeks that time they found she was poisoned from something she ate after countless tests flushing her system, transfusions, so many blood tests for 2 weeks of MRIs, cat scans, test after test in the hospital and experiencing severe pain and temporary paralysis along with serious vision issues. They finally found the source she was diagnosed with having "mercury poisoning" and due to all the medicine, it now caused medically induced Lupus all of this from eating a bad batch of crabs that were apparently not cleaned or properly checked before cooking and selling them. Her recovery has been beyond slow we had a physical therapist visit our home to assist with her ability to walk and stand has become extremely difficult she now uses a rollator, walker and cane to travel long distances. We have depleted all our savings trying to survive and we have filed for the assistance they said can take up to a year which time is not on our side at all. In the meantime, We filed for medical assistance and also applied for me to become her home caregiving aide and she has filed to receive state help such as social security and disability. The fact is we cannot do this at this time alone, we need financial support to move immediately, hire a moving company, pay our security deposit, rent and get some serious necessities. We have begun to throw out several items we can no longer carry and downsize to be able to afford a place that is suitable for my partner's healing process after these scheduled surgical procedures start in August 2024 starting with over a dozen appointments already scheduled and test after test before surgery on her legs and behind her eye to check for tumors the doctors feels is causing her vision issues to progress. We had a few thriving businesses such as our catering business (check out my page) & Unisex fashion Boutique as well as I was teaching private lessons in my field which all came to an abrupt halt. At this point, We are in desperate need of serious help to get through this troublesome time for both of us. Please help us through this horrific storm just to keep our heads above the water until we can get functioning as close to normal until her disability is approved. We really appreciate any help at this time everything counts and thank you in advance for your kindness and for becoming a strong force and blessing to both of us. Sincerely, Carlena & Regina
