Hi, My name is Samantha Grimm and I started this fundraiser to help my parents with medical bills and wages lost after my mom, Trudy Grimm, had an accident while riding her horse Auggie on Wednesday August 2nd. We are unsure what caused her accident, but Auggie never left her side and my dad found them together. My mom had a prolonged period of unconsciousness, and was airlifted from Perry County to Hershey Medical Center. My mom is currently in the SICU with multiple injuries. She has multiple rib fractures, spinal fractures, a collapsed lung and a brain injury. She has been awake and communicating with us and is oriented, but completely forgets the accident. Our parents are very humble and private, and this will probably make them uncomfortable that I’m reaching out for help on their behalf, however we want them to be able to focus on my mom’s healing and not worry as much about bills. if you can help out in any way we will be forever grateful. please refrain from reaching out to my mom as she is working on healing herself. If you have questions you can direct them to me. Thank you all. ♥️ Update 0845 08/04 Update on my mom: Last night around 2100 she was intubated. Her breathing became more labored and they attempted bipap first, but eventually moved to intubation. Due to the extent of her injuries it was the best decision to allow her lungs to heal. Ortho is still deciding if they’re going to place screws in her pelvis as it is fractured in 3 places. She had a mental status change yesterday as well with increased lethargy. Before the decline in her status, she was visited by PT, which is she was NOT happy about. They were able to stand her up, but she needed heavy assistance. She got to sit in a chair for a little. Her chest tube has been water sealed which is good news. Neuro has been following along closely, especially since she has complained of numbness in the tip of her tongue and her feet.
