Right now our country is being taken over by ‘Energy Lords’ We, the people, are under attack. Control of our resources is being eroded. Our environment areas famous for beauty and tranquillity are under threat from this invasion. We want green energy that is owned by us, and benefits our communities. Most of all we want to stop the ‘Energy Lords’ now! We want 100% control of green energy generation in our area. We don’t want our resources to be drained for the purpose of generating billions in profits to go out of our country. These ‘Energy Lords’ are bullying their way through the planning system. Developments that are the first of a kind in Ireland, are proposed for the areas we live in, without proper consultation on our terms. There is a high level of uncertainty around how safe these developments are and there have been serious consequences and disasters with similar developments abroad. Mercury Renewables have applied to An Bord Pleanala for permission to develop an industrial chemical production plant, within 4 miles of Ballina Town, in Co. Mayo. It will be powered by 185m tall turbines several miles away and this entails bringing high powered electricity under our local roads from windfarm to power the compressed Hydrogen Gas production plant. It will bring billions of profits to its owners not our communities! The lives of citizens of the Moy Valley will be under threat from this production plant. Our environment will be also under threat. Help us to stop this development from getting planning permission from An Bord Pleanala now! We are endeavouring to protect our beautiful environment from destruction.
