My name is Jacqui and I’m making this LFEBridge on behalf of my mom, Dee Laraway, or as people who know our family know her- Mama Llama. My mom is 73 years old and on a very fixed income and quickly losing her independence due to loss of mobility and her sight. My brother Neil and I help her out both physically and financially and yesterday we found out that the apartment she has lived in for the last 10 years is being sold and she has 30-45 days to pack up and move. With the housing market and rents the way they currently are, even getting her a housing voucher involves a waitlist of possibly three to four years. Neither my brother nor I live in an apartment accessible to her and aren’t in a position to move at the moment either. We have found a ground level apartment that will work for her and will be available when she needs to be out in September, but without a voucher she can’t afford it. We don’t have time to spare so I’m asking for help. My mom is the most generous, caring soul I’ve ever known, and whatever you can donate will go right to paying her rent until a voucher is available. Thank you!
