Hey guys it's Desirae. First off I just want to say thank you to everyone who has been praying for Linley during this accident and the beginning of his recovery journey. For anyone who doesn't know Linley had an accident early Monday morning last week. He fell down a flight of stairs with a concrete wall at the bottom. He was unresponsive so a friend called 911. He was sent to Salina Medical to have emergency surgery. Scans showed that he had extensive bleeding and swelling to his brain. His airway was compromised so they incubated him and was placed on a ventilator. They went in and removed the left side of his skull to allow space for his brain because of the swelling. The doctors told us that only time would tell if he would survive or what kind of damage there may be. In the last week every day there has been progress. He was able to breathe on his own and was removed from the ventilator. It took a minute but he started moving around. His right arm has trouble moving but its getting better daily. He's able to speak but most everything he says is jibberish. Thankfully he can say some things that make sense. He knows his name and who is family. Thank God! He had a drain from the back of his head to keep the blood off his brain. Thankfully he had a good CT scan so the doctors removed that drain. He still has not been able to pass a swallow test so they have a feeding tube in his nose but will probably do surgery to place one on his stomach. He is very confused and is having to wear MIT restraints so he doesn't pull any tubes or further injure his head. I was able to apply for medicaid and disability for Linley and are waiting to hear back. The doctors have said he will need to go to a specialized therapy for TBI's. We are hoping that we can get him some insurance but if not on average a place like that can cost 45,000. I know that during this time it's important for Linley to focus on recovery and not be stressed. That's why I am reaching out to all of his friends and family for financial assistance during this medical emergency. I know he totally understands if you are not financially able to and we just ask that you share his fundraiser. Thank you all and please continue to pray for him. His two babies miss him dearly and need him!!
