For those who have not had the pleasure of meeting Cory, let me tell you about this remarkable individual. He is an embodiment of kindness, joy, talent, humor, intelligence, and all the qualities that make a person truly wonderful. Cory & I met doing Musical Theatre at Children’s Musical Theatre of San Jose (CMTSJ) when he & I both played the role of “Audrey II” (a.k.a The Plant) in separate casts in Little Shop Of Horrors back in the early 2000’s. We have been incredibly close friends ever since. Sadly, Cory has faced tremendous challenges since being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes at a young age, resulting in the amputation of both his legs. At just 37 years old, he now finds himself grappling with the debilitating effects of End-Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD) caused by Diabetic Nephropathy. Cory must undergo dialysis treatments almost every other day to sustain his life. Regrettably, Cory's situation has recently taken a turn for the worse. Due to unforeseen circumstances, he has lost his home and is now without shelter. I appeal to your compassion to help us secure a stable, clean, and wheelchair-accessible apartment for Cory as quickly as possible.
