LIAM DINWIDDIE'S EAGLE SCOUT SERVICE PROJECT UPDATE: Dear Generous Donors - Friends, Family, and Neighbors, It is with great enthusiasm and gratitude that I share with you a major milestone and update: I have crossed the installation finish line on my Eagle Scout Service Project! I am thrilled that the project is complete and that the President of Lafayette Little League has already signed off on it. The Fiberon Helmet Box Units and Jaypro Bat Racks have been installed in both dugouts at the Lafayette Lower Community Park baseball field. The Helmet Box Units are made from Fiberon composite boards and are guaranteed to last for over 30 or 40 years. Each unit has a precisely fitted, powder coated, expanded metal back and each of the 15 square, helmet cubbies is reinforced with Simpson Strong Tie L Brackets. The units are bolted into the cement floor of the dugouts. The Jaypro Bat Racks are also powder-coated, heavy-duty, galvanized steel. They are bolted into the cement pad of each dugout, as well. As I stood back and experienced both joy and relief while checking out the finished products in each dugout, I had another moment of tremendous appreciation and gratitude for the incredible generosity that you all provided me. With your amazing kindness and support, I have successfully completed my Eagle Scout Service Project using extremely high-quality materials and commercial grade equipment. This will benefit Lafayette Little League, Advanced Baseball as well as Lafayette Parks, Trails, and Recreation for years to come. The completed project was also made possible by the donations or services from Home Depot, Lowe's, Ashby Lumber, Calco Fence, and from Troop 284's chartering organization, VFW Post 8063. I also want to acknowledge that my project was successfully completed because of the help I received from my fellow Scouts and Adult volunteers. I am very grateful to all of them, but my Mom, Dad, and Uncle Mike were especially instrumental in helping me cross my project finish line. You all have made such a difference to the Lafayette Community, and to me. 'Thank you' from the bottom of my heart. With Sincere Gratitude, Liam Dinwiddie Eagle Scout (Pending Spring ’24) Troop 284
