Hi, my name is Ric, and I'm fund raising for my family. On June, 10, 2024 it started raining, and didn't stop until it had poured several inches (8+" in East Barre) of rain on the state of Vermont, causing statewide, devastating flooding. Our house is built over a stream, which we love, most of the time, but on this day, it became a raging river, overflowing its banks and pummeling the house, garage and garden, and filling the basement with mud and water. The garage was pushed off its foundation, the cement slab it sits on is broken and unstable. It all will have to be removed. There are huge holes where our driveway used to be..The back of the house, over the river, has been compromised, and will need repair. The amount of debris in the basement, garage and yard will require weeks of clearing. And we are the fortunate ones, and are very grateful for that. Unfortunately, that also means that help will be slow to arrive, being sent to more populated areas of the state--which we understand, of course. But we could use a little help. Thank you.
