However, one fateful Monday morning, his tranquil biking route became a nightmare. JP was struck by a pickup truck, an all-too-familiar danger on Texas roads. The driver, unaware of JP's presence, left him motionless on the side of the road, unnoticed for agonizing hours. JP was rushed to the ER and later transferred to the ICU with grave injuries. He endured back fractures, a laceration in his spleen and liver, blood in his brain, and numerous abrasions all over his body. Now, he faces the battle of his life, requiring three spine surgeries for a chance at recovery. His once active and independent spirit is now confined to the confines of a hospital bed, and his dreams are hanging in the balance. We have the power to make a difference by supporting JP's emergency medical bills and raising awareness about the dangers cyclists face on Texas roads. Together, we can strive for a safer environment where preventable accidents shatter no more lives, and no family has to endure such heartache.
