This fundraiser is for the Joyce Family, lifelong residents of Marlborough, MA. On Wednesday 07/12/23, the Joyce's home suffered significant fire, smoke and water damage, displacing their family of 3; Diane, David and their adult autistic son Dallas, who was the hero of the day. After getting out of the shower, he smelled something burning. He yelled to his Mom and Dad. The house phone was not working, so he ran up and down the street yelling "fire" before going back and assisting his parents out of the house. With emergency assistance, they were able to go to a local hotel with accommodations for Diane's wheelchair. They were unaware this would only be for 2 nights. They have been told they need to check out tomorrow and need to find another place to stay for a minimum of 30 days until their home can be repaired. David recently retired after 20+ years working for the public school system and 30+ years in the US Army. Diane was a stay at home mother who cared for their only child, born with autism. Due to recent health issues, she now depends on oxygen and a wheelchair. They would like to keep normalcy for their son and not have to move from place to place while waiting to move back into their home, the only home Dallas has known. Any donations from this fundraiser are for temporary housing, medical supplies, food, clothing, a tablet and legos for Dallas, and to replace David's cell phone, which was lost in the fire so he can stay in contact with insurance, contractors and Doctors. Your donation to this great family is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
