"...Jordan Burnham was in his parents' home in Bayberry South when the storm hit. “I didn’t see anything. I heard it,” Jordan said. “I was up on the second floor. It was raining really, really hard.” He knew there were thunderstorm warnings but hadn’t heard anything about a tornado. “There were two gusts. The first gust was scary. I knew I had to get downstairs,” he said. “The second gust, I felt the house shaking. The windows were rattling. I knew I had to get to the basement. The scary part was I didn’t know how long it would last.” But 30 seconds later, the wind died down, as the heavy rain continued. Water was dripping down to the basement. When he went up to the first floor, the water was pouring into the sunroom. “I didn’t realize why. Then I saw part of the roof had been torn off,” Jordan said. “I started running around getting buckets and bins, trying to save what I could.”..." (excerpt from article, read full piece here ) On Sunday, July 9, 2024, Jordan Burnham's family home was hit by an F1 tornado. Thankfully, everyone in the family, including Rosie the cat, is safe. The house, however, is another story. Many people visiting this page will know Jordan from his 15 years with Minding Your Mind , either as an inspiring speaker and advocate, a dedicated director of speaker development & training, or a valued colleague and friend. At some point during those 15 years, you've likely met Georgette and Earl, Jordan's parents, and heard Jordan speak with love and appreciation for them and his sister, Tara. Jordan has dedicated himself, personally and professionally, to helping and supporting others during times of challenge, growth, and recovery. Now, Jordan and his family are the ones in a time of challenge, and need help and support to recover. Their home has suffered significant structural damage and is uninhabitable. Attempting to find a short-term rental is difficult this time of year. The stress of securing the existing house and caring for their belongings that survived is significant, thinking about replacing what was lost is immense. While we can't move that process along any faster, we can help by building a financial bridge that will ease one piece of that stress and give them some room to plan, live, and move forward. All funds raised will go directly to Jordan and his family. All gifts will be gratefully appreciated by the Burnhams and, as Jordan does for thousands of people every year, let them know they are not alone. We thank you for your consideration and support. The team at Minding Your Mind
