Hello All, My father flew to the Philippines for follow up checkups for all his pre existing conditions. Unfortunately, he was suddenly brought to the ER on July 18, 2024 for liver inflammation and infection. One test after another, the doctors discovered that my father's heart was enlarged. They performed an angiogram which showed that 90% of his heart was blocked. An emergency angioplasty was performed yesterday and by the grace of God and your continued prayers, he passed that hurdle. The angioplasty revealed that my father's heart blockage was worst than what was shown on the aniogram, his heart was actually 99% blocked. Due to the severity of the situation, he has been placed in the CCU (Cardiac Care Unit) for continued care and monitoring. While at the CCU, he encountered complications wherein he lost a good amount of blood and his BP spiked. He is now under intensive surveillance. As we all know, medical care is not cheap. Especially when it comes so suddenly. Even with health insurance, it is a behemoth. The health insurance that my parents have, can barely cover the costs as the deductible is so high. What would have been a routine follow up check up has turned into a medical emergency and expenses have grown to an astronomical size that we can barely shoulder on our own as a family. Unlike countries like the Unites States where one can get treated and billed later, the Philippines requires upfront payments or no treatments and care will be given. If a patient is unable to pay for care on the spot, all care rendered will come to a halt. This is now turning into a reality for my father. We have pooled our resources and have tried to pay in increments. However, we - my parents and my siblings - have exhausted all our financial means. My father is barely past the thick of it, and is now in danger of not receiving additional care should we fail to pay. Our credit cards are maxed out and savings accounts are depleted. My parent's health insurance provider has stopped responding efficiently. So here I am- here is my family, deeply humbled to ask whoever is reading this, that if you have even a dollar to spare for my father's continued care, if you could please donate to his cause. Even if you just took the time to read this, we would appreciate if you could share this on. Whoever it reaches we appreciate your time and consideration. We thank you deeply from the bottom of our hearts. We thank you for helping us hold on to our dad a little longer.
